I just uploaded several pictures of the students' artwork onto the Art page. Please feel free to take a peek!
"Do you want to build a snowman?" This Tuesday, February 24th, Centennial School is hosting a Math/Literacy night for all students and their families. There will be six stations set up in the gym; 3 math and 3 literacy. I hope you can all make it out to the event! The time is 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM. There will be snacks provided and there are several prizes to be awarded as well.
A second set of invitations were sent home today. If you could please RSVP, indicating how many children and adults will be in attendance, that would be wonderful. Hot Lunch and Milk order forms for the month of March were sent home today. They are due this Friday, February 20th.
I check the students' Reading Logs (green duotang) every single morning. It is expected that they are reading each and every night for a minimum of 20 minutes. After reading, they are to complete one question. Tomorrow, I will be checking to see that THREE questions have been answered.
The Math sheet that was sent home last Monday (Feb. 9th) is due tomorrow.
I will be sending home a second Math sheet tomorrow, which will be due this Friday (Feb. 20th). I sent home an invitation today notifying parents that we will be having a Valentine's Day party at the end of the day (Thursday). If your son/daughter is bringing in Valentines, could you assure that he/she brings in one for each child in the class. Thank you.
Also, if you will be sending in food or beverages with your child, could you please let me know what he/she will be bringing by Thursday. This week's Math Homework is due Monday, February 16th.
Just a reminder to parents that students DO NOT have school this Friday, February 13th.
The blue form that was sent home asking you whether or not you will be enrolling your son/daughter in grade 6 late immersion is due this Thursday (February 12th).
Even if you and your child decide NOT to enrol in immersion, the form MUST be returned. I need to send each and every form to District Office. There was a math sheet sent home yesterday, which is due this Friday, February 6th.
There are no weekly spelling words. That being said, your son/daughter was sent home with a new Reading Log (green duotang) and there are five questions per page. It is expected that your child will read for a minimum of 20 minutes and then answer one of the five questions each night. I will be checking the Reading Logs every morning. |
